- Our Story
Built by the community, for the community.
The Collective started as a conversation between a few people who
believed that the best resource for a person in need is another
person who cares.
ABOUT US
What is The Supporting World?
The Supporting World is a volunteer-run, non-profit community initiative helping professionals navigate the job market through peer support, mentorship, and referral networks.
We are not registered as a formal entity – we are registered in intent, in effort, and in impact. We do not charge job seekers. We
do not pay contributors. We exist because people believe that the community has a responsibility to look after its own.
Behind every layoff statistic is a skilled person, a family, and an uncertain future. The Supporting World was founded to close the gap between talent and opportunity – through the most reliable network ever built: human beings who care.
Founded on a simple belief
People who've made it have a responsibility to help people trying to make it.
Community-first, always
Not a job board. Not a recruitment agency. A genuine peer network.
Radically open
No fees, no gatekeeping. Any IT professional can register in minutes.
Growing across India
Active in 12+ cities and expanding through volunteer energy alone.
MISSION
To reduce the time, uncertainty, and isolation that professionals experience during job transitions.
By connecting them with a network of contributors who actively help, not just passively observe – through referrals, mentorship, and genuine human connection.
Our Values
What drives every decision we make
Three values that define how The Supporting World operates – and why it works.
Openness
Anyone can join. There is no application process, no approval committee, no gatekeeping.
If you’re in IT and you need help – or you want to give it – you belong here.
Reciprocity
Today’s job seeker is tomorrow’s contributor. We believe in a loop of giving and growing – the community regenerates itself through the success of its members.
Dignity
No one should feel desperate to find decent work in a field they’ve spent years mastering.
The Supporting World treats every member with the respect their expertise deserves.
The People

A small team of volunteers who believed a community initiative could do what job boards cannot.

Is The Collective really free?
Yes. 100% free for job seekers, always. Contributors volunteer their time. The Supporting World has no revenue
model and charges no fees of any kind.
Is The Collective a registered NGO?
We are not formally registered as an NGO or non-profit entity. We are a community initiative — registered in intent and impact, not in paperwork. We operate transparently and are accountable to our community.
What happens to my data when I register?
Your profile is shared only with verified contributors within The Supporting World network. We do not sell data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising. You can request deletion at any time.
How do I know contributors are legitimate?
Contributors are verified manually by our team before gaining access to the seeker database. We check LinkedIn profiles, employment status, and professional references where possible.
I'm not currently looking for a job. Can I still register as a job seeker?
Yes. You can register as “open to opportunities” even if you are currently employed. Many of our best matches happen for people who weren’t actively looking but found the right opportunity through The Supporting World.

This varies. Some seekers receive contributor contact within 48 hours. Others take a few weeks depending on their role, location, and the active contributor pool. On average, our seekers receive their first meaningful contact within 2 weeks.
